I would like to congratulate Meghan DeSoto, Mascotte City Council, Seat 2 and Jessica Bruno for City Council Seat 4. I look forward to working with them. I appreciate all the support I have received. If anyone still has my signs please secure them before the storm and let me know so I can come get them. Thank you.

For anyone that is worried about flooding with the approaching storm, the City of Mascotte will have sandbags for residents on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Residents may pick up sandbags at the City Administration building from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Residents must bring their own shovels and are limited to 10 bags of sand per household. Once you pick up the sandbags you will need to go to the City of Mascotte cemetery to fill your bags. No tools will be provided at the sand site and residents are responsible for filling their own bags.

If you are needing assistance with filling sandbags, assistance is available at the Minneola Athletic Complex and P.E.A.R. Park in Leesburg.

Citizens wanting more information should contact the Citizens Information Line (CIL) at 352-253-9999. The information line is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

I was asked why should someone vote for me.

I request and encourage feedback from the citizens. I have listened to the community and voted the way they asked.

I have reached out and spoken to representatives at the county, state and federal levels to bring light to the needs of our community.

I have been attending and speaking to the school board to help our children.

I have been actively involved with community events. Volunteering my time to help with events.

I have been working with local non profits to help provide services to residents.

I have fought for funding for our parks, responsible growth, bigger lot sizes, more parks for our children, and another school for our community.

How do you find out about events that the City is hosting? Events are posted on the Facebook page, website and water bill. What is another way to notify the citizens?

Local candidates were invited to witness the testing of our prescient and early voting machines at Lake County Supervisor of Elections. After testing was done we were invited to see how the votes were counted. I was saddened that some candidates did not stay to witness how this is done. Making sure your vote is counted is important.
