Join Keep Blount Beautiful at the Blount County Courthouse next Saturday, June 6 for a Reuse & Recycle Pop-Up! This event is a free, drive-through collection of various hard-to-dispose-of items for proper recycling or reuse. Please enter the parking lot via Court Cir. and exit via E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy.
Please review the information below carefully before packing up your items. Items cannot be dropped off any earlier than 9:00am and the event will end promptly at 12:00pm.
ACCEPTED ITEMS:
♻️Scott Recycling
Electronics (Please consider a $5-$10 donation for the use of electronic recycling services)
NOTE: There is a disposal fee for CRT TVs and CRT monitors. Cash or check payment only. Checks can be made out to Scott Recycling. CRT Monitors are $15 each, Small CRT TVs are $25, and Large CRT TVs are $35.
♻️Paper Bee Gone
Sensitive documents for shredding (Please consider a $5-$10 donation for shredding services)
NOTE: Documents will be accepted from households and small businesses/nonprofits only. Shredding is done on-site. Shredding services will only be available as capacity lasts. Staples, paper clips, and extra small binder clips do not have to be removed, but binding, three ring folders/binders, and medium/large binder clips cannot be shredded. To ensure room for sensitive documents only, regular paper should be taken to a recycling center or placed in your recycling bin.

Clothes, shoes, housewares, small appliances, luggage, furniture, books, games, and toys in good, working condition with no rips, stains, or breaks
♻️Batteries (Please consider a $5-$10 donation for the use of battery recycling services)

Prescription eyeglasses. Please no sunglasses, safety glasses, or cases.

If you are looking to recycle items not listed above, consider using the Blount County Recycling Center! The Blount County Recycling Center accepts glass, corrugated cardboard, mixed paper/newspaper, plastics #1 through #7, and more.
The Recycling Center also accepts some household hazardous waste items.
