Rotary Club of Maryville

Rotary Club of Maryville In more than 160 countries worldwide. In more than 160 countries worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 34,000 Rotary clubs.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and

open to all cultures, races, and creeds. The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self. The 4-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do:

Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Maryville, Patrick Joyce!🌟

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Patrick to our club today!

A longtime Rotarian from Minnesota, Patrick brings with him a rich history of service including leadership roles as president and active involvement in two Rotary clubs, where he spearheaded impactful initiatives both locally and internationally.

When Patrick and his family relocated to Tennessee for the great weather and quality of life, he did his homework on Rotary clubs in the area… and we’re honored he chose *us*.

We’re grateful to have Patrick join our Rotary family and can’t wait to see the energy, experience, and ideas he’ll bring to our collective work. Welcome aboard, Patrick, we’re excited for what’s ahead!

Our program March 18 featured two seniors from Clayton-Bradley Academy who were part of the Green Power Racing Team. Cole Ivens and Jacob Rutherford told us about the value of learning during this hands-on project where their work involved designing, building, and racing an electric vehicle as part of a national STEM competition called Greenpower USA Racing. They highlighted the engineering process, data-driven testing, and the role of teamwork and fundraising. This work focused on student-led discussions and teamwork, while teaching critical real-world skills. Here's the car and the team:
