We continued in our evening storytime with a pasta theme, making flowers, running a pasta shop, shaking pasta-filled shakers, sorting, and even painting with spaghetti. Join us for storytime every Tuesday morning at 9:45 am. Best suited for little learners ages birth to age 5 and their grown-ups.

This month's BOSS Coffee event will feature Wes Rockwood, Northwest Missouri State University web designer. Wes has over 15 years of experience in graphic design and marketing and operates Rockwood Creative to help businesses and organizations with their website development and marketing strategy.

This free event, held this month at Nodaway County Services on East Lieber, is part of Maryville's BOSS Coffee series, offered by Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce, Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation, Northwest Missouri State University, Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF), and Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments.

Meet Nora Crowley, our Maryville Post Office History Intern: At the Library's Historic Window Project Celebration September 24, Nora will be introducing a Maryville Post Office History Display accenting the historic west post office lobby inside Maryville Public Library.

Nora is a senior undergraduate at Northwest Missouri State University majoring in History with experience at Andrew County Museum, and in her current job in the Archives Department at NWMSU.

Be at the Library at Thursday, September 24 at 5:30 p.m. to enjoy this new display, as well as archived photos from the vaults of Nodaway County Historical Society and the Maryville Public Library.

We'll have music from Nodaway Chorale and NWMSU Jazz Combo, refreshments from Cornerstone Catering, and a Local History Trivia Contest in the adult reading area afterwards!

The September adult program at Maryville Public Library will be a local history trivia event as part of our Historic Post Office Celebration. The celebration will be on Thursday, September 24, with the trivia beginning at 6:00pm in the library adult section.

The trivia event will be focused on local history. There will be 5 rounds with 5 questions each round. Prizes will be awarded to the top trivia teams. Teams of 1 to 3 persons are welcome to compete. Registration for the trivia event is appreciated. Adults can register for free at the library front desk or by calling (660) 582-5281. This program is intended for adults, but youth ages 13 and up are welcome to attend with an adult.

Congratulations to our 2026 Adult Summer Reading Program winners Julie Filips and Catherine Brown! Just for fun, 96 local adults read for prizes during the months of June and July with over half completing four books during the summer. Look for the names of our Kids Summer Reading Challenge completers in an upcoming issue of the Maryville Forum.

Date Correction: Area entrepreneurs are invited to join us the morning of Wednesday, August 26 at 8:15 a.m. for a presentation on local business support from Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce and Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation. Come by for free coffee, meet other local business owners, and learn about how local agencies can help you start or grow your business! This event will be held in the blue Nodaway County Services building behind Jimmy John's at 122 E. Lieber.
