As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything in service to our nation.

The love we have felt this week has been amazing and we truly feel supported by the community, colleagues, and by so many new friends. Whether it be the handwritten notes, or the kind words, these special treats have added to how special yall make us feel. Thank you to the ER Crew, Nodaway Nursing Home and Parkdale for blessing us with the extra love.

Caffeine and Sugar, those are part of the 5 major food groups right?! Oh wait, that’s just for EMS folks. Well the fanatic staff at Village Care knows how to keep us going and knows how to make our entire week by spoiling us with this amazing treat basket and cookie cake! We are so grateful to them and appreciate the kind gesture!

Our MMCM ER friends are truly amazing. Not only are they incredible to work with, they know how to keep the EMS crews happy. May have to let out the belt a notch or two after enjoying these wonderful treats but never the less, we are so thankful for the thoughtful and delicious gifts!!!!

From life-saving interventions to simply holding a hand during someone’s worst moment, you make a difference far beyond what words can express.

To our paramedics, EMTs, rescue squads, and support staff, THANK YOU for answering the call, no matter the time or circumstance. Your sacrifice, professionalism, and teamwork keep our communities safe.

Mental Health Awareness Month hits differently when you’ve both lived it and lost someone to it.

Mental illness isn’t something “other people” deal with—it touches all of us in some way. Some of us fight battles quietly every day. Some of us carry the weight of losing someone who couldn’t keep fighting. Both are real. Both matter.

There is no shame in struggling. There is no weakness in asking for help. Life can get heavy, and none of us were meant to carry it alone.

Be kind. Be patient. Check on your people. And if you’re the one hurting, please know this—you are not alone, and there is always someone willing to listen.
Your story matters. Your life matters. Always.
