SCAM ALERT

Do NOT give out credit card or debit card PIN numbers over the phone.
It is being reported this tactic is being used in our region. If you get a phone call and they ask for your credit card number (even just the last six digits) and your PIN, DO NOT provide the information.

Hang up and call your bank or credit card company with the number printed on your card. Scammers are busy and many are sophisticated. Be smart. If it feels weird or wrong, hang up. Your bank will not ask for your PIN. That is an immediate red flag it's a scam.

Be safe and give us a call if you have questions.

Today is National Administrative Professionals Day and we would like to say thank you to Danielle Salcedo for being an absolute rock star. Danielle recently completed a course through the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) and is working with partners from around the nation to build a crime analysis capability for MPD. She is doing amazing things!

Thank you for all you do for our department and our community, Danielle. You are appreciated.

MPD would like to take a moment and thank all the dispatchers out there doing amazing work.

This is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

What is NPSTW, you ask? Directly from npstw.org, "Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored. This week-long event is a time to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public. It is a week that should be set aside so everyone can be made aware of their hard work and dedication."

In that spirit, we say THANK YOU!

Thank you to Marshall County Emergency Management for inviting us to be a part of your safety video this week. Our topic focused on internet safety.

Please take a moment to watch and share the video with your children to help promote safe and responsible internet use.

We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day than playing a friendly game of dodgeball with the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
We told them we’d have no mercy… but little did we know, they came prepared and absolutely destroyed us.
Great work, students! We’ll be practicing and bringing the heat with us next year.

This year’s Shop with a Cop event had an incredible turnout, and we were proud to sponsor 34 families.

A heartfelt thank you to Walmart, the Landoll family, Coffee Crossing, and everyone who generously donated and volunteered to help make this event such a success. Your support truly made a difference in our community.

Please join us in congratulating our newest officer, Debbrina Johnson, on her graduation from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC)! Debbrina has successfully completed this training and now begins the next phase of her journey—Field Training (FTO)—starting this week. If you see Officer Johnson around Marysville, please be sure to say hello and congratulate her on this outstanding achievement. Congratulations, Debbrina, and welcome to the team!
