CalFresh Update for Adults Without Dependents!

You may have heard about changes coming to CalFresh starting today, June 1, 2026.
Here are the details: New adult applicants without dependents will have 3 months to either qualify for an exemption OR meet new work or community engagement requirements.

Have you ever wondered what to do before the EMTs and ambulances arrive? Then join us Friday, April 3rd, for a Hands Only CPR training with the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross will share how you can provide lifesaving care for a range of emergencies. The event will take place at the Yuba County Government Center's Wheatland Room, 915 8th Street in Marysville. No registration necessary, for parents/caregivers with children ages 0-5! We’re excited to partner with Adventure Church of Yuba City for a Food Giveaway & Community Event on Sunday, March 22!

Join us from 10 AM–Noon at the Old K-Mart Parking Lot (850 Gray Ave., Yuba City) for free food, free kids haircuts, and fun for the whole family. This is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors and support one another as a community.

Food distribution will be first come, first served, and this will be an on-site distribution, so please plan to park your car and get in line. We encourage you to bring bags or carts to carry food home/back to your car.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Yuba County Probation and the Ritner family. Dan Ritner was a fantastic officer. He was a well respected by many throughout the County and will be remembered for his service and commitment to our Community.

We are heartbroken by the unexpected loss of a cherished member of our Probation family, Dan Ritner. Dan served Yuba County for over 20 years. He served our department with honor, dedication, and a deep sense of responsibility. His commitment to the community was surpassed by his devotion to his family, who meant everything to him.

He was more than a colleague- he was a mentor, a friend, and a steady presence in our department. His impact will be felt for many years to come.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
