🔥Guardians of the Flame—Champions for Inclusion🫡

Thank you, Marysville, for supporting the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Washington! Since last Thursday’s event, more than $20,000 has been raised across the region.

Members of the Marysville Police Department, including Chief Erik Scairpon, proudly took part in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run, carrying the Flame of Hope from Arlington to Lake Stevens and handing off to our partners at the Lake Stevens Police Department🚓 Fellow officers and even Eddie the Eagle joined in support! 💙

The Torch Run is more than a tradition. It’s a movement that unites law enforcement agencies in support of Special Olympics athletes. For MPD, this commitment continues with the annual Polar Plunge. Supporting these athletes is one of the ways we serve.

⭐️Employee Spotlight: Community Service Officer Joie Mette 🐾

When it comes to dedication, expertise, and passion, CSO Joie Mette brings it all to the City of Marysville.

Joie holds not one, but TWO master’s degrees—one in Forensics and another in Veterinary Forensics. She is a nationally accredited Animal Control Officer, certified in Chemical Immobilization, and made local history by successfully winning Marysville’s first jury trial for Animal Cruelty.

Whether she’s investigating animal cruelty cases, advocating for the welfare of animals, or serving our community, Joie consistently goes above and beyond.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll likely find her hiking the trails with her dogs, planning her next travel adventure, enjoying a slice of pizza, or rewatching episodes of Friends (her arm tattoos are all the proof you need!).

Joie’s unique skillset, professionalism, and commitment to public service make her an incredible asset to the City of Marysville and our department. We’re proud to have her on our team.

Thank you, Joie, for everything you do! 👏🐶❤️

These officers will continue serving the City of Marysville through their roles in the Marysville Jail. Join us in congratulating Custody Officer Cross and Custody Corporal Feucht on their accomplishments and their continued call to service.🎉
