Another part of August drill included land navigation, where Soldiers from 483rd Quartermaster Company went over a refresher course for reading a map and using a compass and went out to find points on the Joint Base Lewis-McChord land navigation course. 🗺

At August drill, Soldiers from 483rd Quartermaster Company participated in the Obstacle Course and Confidence Course at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Both courses incorporate navigating challenging platforms as an individual or a group that requires strength and teamwork to complete. #483

On April 3, 483rd Quartermaster Company conducted the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) in Marysville, Washington. The test consists of six events including the deadlift, the standing power throw, the hand release push-up, the sprint/drag/carry, the plank, and the 2 mile run. The ACFT becomes the Army’s official physical test for record in 2023. 🏋️

On March 11, PFC Jasubi Bruno was promoted from PV2 in the field by the 483rd Quartermaster Company’s 92G (Culinary Specialist) Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOIC) SGT Mary Hjort. PFC Bruno displayed exemplary performance through cooking expertise and consistent accountability. 🍽

On March 10-13, 483rd Quartermaster Company conducted a Field Training Exercise (FTX) at Joint Base Lewis McChord. The 92G Culinary Specialist team practiced setting up and utilizing the Mobile Kitchen Trailer (MKT) to prepare hot meals for Soldiers. They also used the Field Sanitation Center (FSC) in order to properly clean and dry cooking equipment. 🍴

During February drill weekend on February 26-27, 2022, three Soldiers from 483rd Quartermaster Company were recognized for their hard work through awards and promotions. SSG (Staff Sergeant) Dustin Hawkins was given a coin from Brigade Command Sergeant Major Wynn for producing tremendous results for the company through both his full-time Active Guard Reserve position with the unit and his platoon sergeant position. Two Soldiers were promoted from Specialist to Corporal, including CPL Christian Capovilla and CPL Concepcion Morales. The Corporal rank is an entry NCO (non-commissioned officer) rank used as a stepping stone into the NCO corps. CPL Capovilla and CPL Morales have consistently displayed strong leadership skills and expertise in their MOS as specialists, resulting in these two highly deserved promotions. Congratulations to all three Soldiers for receiving these honors and demonstrating exceptional work. #483

CPT (Captain) Kirk Daffon and SFC (Sergeant First Class) Doua Xiong have assumed command of 483rd Quartermaster Company as its Commander and First Sergeant effective January 19, 2022. The new company leadership, including new Executive Officer 1LT (First Lieutenant) Denis Julio, are excited to take charge of a company that is consistently growing and currently stands at 99 Soldiers strong - you could be the 100th Soldier to join the team!
