🚫 Burn Ban in Effect Across Delaware 🚫

Starting May 1 through September 30, open burning is prohibited statewide to help protect our air quality during ozone season. Dry conditions and rising temperatures increase the risk of wildfires that can quickly get out of control.

Please do your part to keep our community safe—avoid outdoor burning and follow all state guidelines. Permitted fires must be contained and use approved fuels only.

🔥 If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

Let’s work together to protect our community, our environment, and each other

The officers and members of the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company proudly recognized National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week by making two visits to express our appreciation for the critical role of our dispatchers.

Stops were made at the Caroline County Department of Emergency Services and the Kent County Department of Public Safety, where officers and members delivered large goodie baskets as a small token of gratitude.

We extend our sincere thanks to all telecommunicators for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to supporting emergency services and safeguarding our communities each and every day!

Earlier today, 56 units were alerted to Stafford Rd for a reported small non-dwelling structure fire. Command 51 arrived on location and reported a 30x40 working structure fire with visible fire conditions.

Engine 561 assumed the first-due engine assignment and crews quickly began an aggressive attack, knocking down a significant portion of the fire. Crews then attempted to gain access through the door located on the Alpha/Bravo corner to continue interior operations.

Shortly after, Command sounded evacuation tones due to a partial roof collapse, and all crews safely exited the structure. Crews then transitioned to defensive operations and continued working the incident.

56 units remained on scene for approximately two hours before returning to service.

Sta 56 received mutual aid support from Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, Goldsboro VFC, Greensboro Fire Department, and Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company

Camden-Wyoming Fire Company provided our district with coverage while 56 units were on scene
