Hyper-Reach Chosen to Help Protect Lives and Property

Telephone-based mass notification systems are used by thousands of public safety agencies across the US to warn citizens about local emergencies, hazards and other threats. Now, Clark County, IL announces they have selected Hyper-Reach to help bring this same life-saving capability to the area.

The new emergency alert system will provide rapid notification of hazardous and urgent situations using a mix of telephone calls, text and email messages, and even TTY/TDD service for the hearing impaired.

The County plans to use the service primarily for alerts about weather and environmental hazards, criminal activity, and missing persons. Landline phones are automatically enrolled for Community alerts, but Weather alerts to landline phones and Community and Weather alerts to VoIP phones, mobile phones and email addresses are only included when people enroll.

Residents and people who work in Clark County, IL are encouraged to enroll now (using a county address) either by calling or texting "Alert" to 217-293-2323 or by going to the website: http://hyper-reach.com/ilclarksignup.html . Residents can also sign up for emergency alerts via their Alexa-enabled smart speakers just by saying, "Alexa, enable Hyper-Reach," and following the Alexa-provided instructions.

Residents can download the Hyper-Reach Anywhere app on their smartphones. Hyper-Reach Anywhere is a free smartphone app that allows individual residents to manage and monitor the alerts they receive, both for their home, office, and other addresses they care about, such as those of elderly relatives and friends.

The safety of their citizens is a top priority for Clark County, IL and they are excited to bring this new capability to the county through this state-of-the-art mass emergency notification system designed specifically for public safety!

These remarkable individuals are the calm voice in the chaos, the lifeline for those in distress and the first link in the public safety chain of survival. They work tirelessly, often behind the scenes to ensure that assistance arrives quickly and efficiently to those in need. Never faltering, they answer the call with profound commitment and professionalism. Their compassion, quick thinking and ability to remain calm under immense pressure saves lives every day. Thank you for your selflessness, resilience and unwavering dedication to serving and protecting our communities, especially our first responders. You are the heartbeat of our emergency response, and we are forever grateful for your service!

UPDATE: THE ANGLING ROAD WILL REOPEN THIS EVENING AND WILL NOT BE CLOSED TOMORROW.

Todays road closure reminder from the County Highway Dept.

"Clark County Highway Department plans to replace a crossroad culvert approximately 1/8 mile west of 1700th St on Angling Rd on April 9th and 10th. Local traffic can use local roads in the vicinity of the closure. The official detour routes will be 1000th St and Wilderness Roads. We plan on having Angling Road open at 4:30 pm on April 10th."

As I am finally able to take a breath this evening and scroll through social media I would have to 100% agree with Bill Brown post from earlier today Clark County has some of if not the best first reponders in the the area I am extremely proud and honored to live in this county and blessed to be involve with all the fine individuals the make of the exceptional group of fire ems dispatch and all law enforcement in this county
I would pick them all to go to war with
Hats off to Clark county sheriff office, Marshall FPD Ambulance Service Casey police department Marshall police department Martinsville police department Clark County ambulance service all 3 station and all 5 fire protection district (Marshall Westfield Casey Martinsville and West Union)and not to forget the great individuals on the radio behind closed doors Clark County Dispatch E-911 you all are rock stars

**PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT**

*Final Update - As of 10:30 - 911 Emergency lines and non-emergency lines have fully restored.

*Update 2 - @ 0820 - Frontier Communications has given an estimated time of restoral of two hours.

*Update 1 - 5/25/23 @ 0757 - Frontier Communications has confirmed there is a fiber optics line that has been cut somewhere between Clark County and Vigo County. This line cut is affecting multiple counties. At this time, there is no ETA on repair.

Clark County E-911 Emergency lines and non-emergency lines are currently down. Clark County Sheriff's Office (IL) phone lines are also down.

Our emergency lines are currently transferred to our back-up, Crawford County, who will be able to relay the information to us in a timely manner so we can get first responders to our citizens.

Please provide the dispatcher with your full address, name, call back number and complaint.

For non emergencies please call Crawford County's non-emergeny line, 618- 546-1111.

We will post updates as we receive them.
