Henry County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division Makes Drug and Firearm Arrest at Circle K
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, at approximately 5:23 a.m., deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to a call for service at Circle K, located at 1560 Virginia Avenue, regarding a vehicle that had been parked in front of the gas pumps for an extended period of time with an occupant inside.

Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle running with a male asleep in the driver’s seat. The individual was identified as Donavon Andreaus Nibblett, 38 years of age.
While making contact, deputies observed a handgun in plain view equipped with an extended magazine on the floorboard of the vehicle, along with a large amount of U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.

Deputies safely awakened Nibblett and removed him from the vehicle, where he was detained without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately $3,235 in U.S. currency, a small crossbody bag containing a digital scale, baggies commonly associated with narcotics packaging, multiple baggies containing suspected co***ne and fifty-two suboxone strips.

Nibblett was arrested and transported to the Henry County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond on the following charges:
• Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-248 – Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I
or II Controlled Substance (Co***ne)
• Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-308.2 – Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted
Felon• Violation of Virginia Code Section 18.2-308.4 – Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance While in Possession of a Firearm

Yesterday, Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Unit had the opportunity to host a Law Enforcement 101 class at the Spencer-Penn Centre for a great group of young participants ages 5 to 11.

The children had an exciting day learning about the many different aspects of law enforcement through hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations. They learned how investigators lift fingerprints, collect evidence, process a crime scene, and even got a glimpse into what it takes to be a member of a SWAT team. Of course, there were plenty of questions, smiles, and enthusiasm throughout the day.

One of the best parts of the class was seeing the kids’ curiosity and excitement as they explored police equipment and learned more about the deputies who serve their community. Their energy and eagerness to learn made the day enjoyable for everyone involved.

We would like to thank the Spencer-Penn Centre for hosting this event and the children and families who participated. We hope everyone had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to seeing these future leaders at more community events in the future.

***UPDATE***
Investigators were able to locate and interview the bear.

After several rounds of difficult negotiations, investigators determined the reason for the bear’s visit to the County. During the investigation, County Administrator Dale Wagoner was also questioned regarding reports of a possible picnic basket connection.

Fortunately, all parties cooperated, and it was determined that no criminal activity had occurred. The bear has since returned to the woods, and the case has been closed without incident.

For those wondering what brought the bear to the County in the first place, the reason for his visit is revealed at the end of this video.

All jokes aside, we are thankful that the bear was not injured and that the situation ended safely. We are grateful for our community and for the leadership of Dale Wagoner, our County Administrator, Board of Supervisors, and all of those who work every day to make Henry County a great place to live, work, and visit.

Never miss an opportunity to be grateful for where we live. The beauty of Henry County, its wildlife, and the people who make this community special are reminders of just how fortunate we are to call this place home.

The Bear’s Attorney Has Advised Him Not To Comment

Earlier today, security cameras captured a black bear running through the area between the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and the Administration Building. The suspect briefly entered the county complex, made what can only be described as a questionable decision, and then fled the area before deputies could conduct an interview.

The bear was last seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. No injuries were reported, although the suspect’s pride may have suffered minor damage.
At this time, the motive remains unknown, and the bear has declined all requests for comment.

****UPDATE****

Saige Nicole Davis has been located safe. We would like to thank everyone who shared the original post and assisted in our efforts.

The original post will remain active as investigators continue efforts to locate Zackery Wade Jr. and Shaune Harris, who are still listed as runaway juveniles.

End of Update.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating three runaway juveniles who voluntarily left their residences and/or placements without permission.

On June 7, 2026, deputies responded to Oak Ridge Drive in Bassett, Virginia, after Saige Nicole Davis was reported as a runaway juvenile. Saige left her residence at approximately 2:20 p.m. and has not returned. She is described as a white female, 5’4” tall, approximately 130 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a navy-colored jumpsuit and shorts and was carrying a small purse.

Saige’s mother reported that shortly after Saige left the residence, an unknown vehicle was observed slowly driving past the home. Investigators believe Saige may have arranged for someone to pick her up and leave the area.

During the investigation, deputies developed information indicating that Saige may be in the company of Zackery Wade Jr. and Shaune Harris, who are also currently listed as runaway juveniles.

Zackery Wade Jr. was originally reported as a runaway juvenile in October 2025. After extensive investigative efforts, Zackery was located in Roanoke, Virginia, on April 29, 2026. However, on May 25, 2026, Zackery and Shaune Harris left their foster home without permission and were reported as runaway juveniles. Since that time, investigators have actively followed leads and conducted numerous investigative efforts in an attempt to locate them.

At this time, investigators believe Saige Nicole Davis, Zackery Wade Jr., and Shaune Harris may be together. All three are runaway juveniles who left on their own and whose whereabouts are currently unknown.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Saige Nicole Davis, Zackery Wade Jr., or Shaune Harris is encouraged to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-656-4200 or the Henry County-Martinsville 911 Communications Center 276-638-8751.

Please share this post to assist investigators in locating these juveniles and returning them safely.

The photographs of these juveniles are being shared solely for the purpose of assisting law enforcement in locating them. This post will be removed once the juveniles have been safely located.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, during the D-Day invasion of World War II.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom changed the course of history and helped secure the liberties we enjoy today. Many made the ultimate sacrifice, while countless others carried the physical and emotional scars of battle for the rest of their lives.

As we remember the heroes of the Greatest Generation, we express our deepest gratitude to all veterans and service members who have answered the call to serve our nation. Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free and that courage in the face of adversity can change the world.

On this D-Day anniversary, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office joins our community and nation in honoring those who fought, those who sacrificed, and those who never came home.

We will never forget.

A big thank you to everyone at the Henry County Senior Services and Recreation Center for welcoming the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services Division today. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with such a wonderful group, share information about the important work our Animal Services staff do each day, and answer questions about animal care, investigations, adoptions, and how we serve our community.

One of the highlights of the morning was introducing three of our adoptable dogs: Laika, Snoop, and Spud. Each of these dogs is currently looking for a loving forever home and had the opportunity to meet members of our community today. From wagging tails to plenty of smiles, they helped make the event a great success.

Events like these allow us to educate the public about Animal Services while also showcasing some of the wonderful animals waiting to be adopted. We are grateful for the chance to connect with residents, answer questions, and highlight the dedication of our Animal Services team.

Thank you again to Henry County Senior Services for the invitation, hospitality, and support. Together, we continue building a safer and more compassionate community for both our citizens and animals.

If you are interested in adopting Laika, Snoop, or Spud, please contact Henry County Animal Services for more information and help give one of these deserving dogs a forever home.
