Middle School Football workouts for incoming 7th and 8th graders will start Monday, June 1, 2026 and will happen every Monday from 6pm-7:30pm @ the JRW Football field.

All athletes mush be enrolled in the MSD of Martinsville and have a physical on file with the athletic department dated 04/01/26 or after!

Martinsville High School is proud to announce the hiring of Kristen Lovell as the school’s new Athletic Director, following the May 26, 2026, School Board Special Session.

A 1998 graduate of Martinsville High School, Lovell returns home to lead the Artesian athletic program after 17 years in education and numerous years of coaching experience ranging from college to youth sports. Her background in education, leadership, and student development makes her a strong addition to the Martinsville community and athletic department.

Lovell said she is “...excited to return home and serve the Artesian Nation while supporting student-athletics, coaches, and the Martinsville community.”

Superintendent Eric Bowlen praised the hire and expressed confidence in the future of the high school athletic program under her leadership.

“This is a great hire for Martinsville,” said Bowlen. “She brings the spirit the Artesians deserve, and I am ready to see what she accomplishes for the students, coaches, and community.”

Lovell will officially begin her duties as high school athletic director on July 1, 2026.

Congratulations to all the JRW track athletes who competed at the state finals today!!

Elijah Cook finished 2nd in Discus and 5th in shot put!!

JRW’s Mixed 4x400 Relay team of Kell Collins, Milee Hutton, Boden Wolff & Khloe Ogletree pull off a 6th place state finish with a time of 4:05.93!!

Our Boys 4x100 team PRs by over a second placing 9th at state with a time of 47.34! Nice job Kell Collins, Coltyn Dawson, Cooper Coffman & Boden Wolff! 💥

KHLOE OGLETREE DOES IT AGAIN… KHLOE IS THE STATE CHAMPION IN THE 400 METER DASH! 🌟🌟🌟

Madison Pearson PRs again in the 800 with another HUGE drop resulting in an awesome 2:34.54!!!

OUR LADY ARTESIANS ARE FIRE!!! 🔥 Our 4x400 relay team ended the meet knocking nearly 5 seconds off their best time and earning the hardware for 6TH PLACE IN THE STATE!!! Way to go Milee Hutton, Finlee Sparks, Madison Pearson & Khloe Ogletree!!! 🌟💥
