🎉 3rd Quarter Accelerated Readers Rock Star Party! 🎉

We are so proud of our amazing students who were recognized for meeting their reading points goals with 85% or higher accuracy—what an incredible accomplishment! 📚⭐

During our celebration, we also welcomed our newest 25-point club members and awarded ribbons to students advancing to the 50-, 75-, 100-, and even 150-point clubs. Your hard work and dedication to reading truly shine!

A special congratulations goes out to our eleven 1st graders who were honored as Independent Readers—what a milestone! 🎈

Thank you to our parents and guardians for your continued support in helping our students reach their reading goals. We couldn’t do it without you!

Mrs. Young & Mrs. Poston’s classes had a wonderful Spring Fling party today! Due to the rainy weather, the fun moved into the school library, but that didn’t stop the excitement. Both classes enjoyed an egg hunt and some delicious snacks—thank you so much to our amazing 1st grade Room Parents for making it all possible!

What a FUN day at MES!

Today we held our IAR Carnival for our 3rd–6th grade students! After working so hard on IAR state testing last week, our students earned tickets to enjoy all the fun. They played games, enjoyed snacks, and participated in prize drawings, what a great way to celebrate their effort and perseverance!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our Kiss the Pig fundraiser, those funds helped support our prizes and make this carnival possible.

We are also so grateful to Helena, Mrs. Parcel’s high school students, Jenn and Travis Phillips for providing games, and our amazing PTO for their support and help in making this event a success!

We are so proud of our students and all their hard work! More pictures to come.

Mrs. Ellington’s fourth graders had some bittersweet goodbyes today as they sent their classroom chicks off to their new home!

These little chicks have been such a special part of their classroom, and today they were welcomed to their new life on a fourth grader’s family farm. What a perfect “happily ever after”!

We love giving our students these hands-on experiences and watching them care for and learn from real-life moments like this. Farewell, little chicks...it's time to fly the coop!

Our first graders have been hopping right into learning this week! They’ve been working hard on Easter-themed math and phonics activities, building their skills while having lots of fun along the way. From counting and problem-solving to practicing sounds and words, these students are doing an egg-cellent job!

Meanwhile, Mrs. Skidmore’s second graders had a surprise guest… a cat! We’re not sure if it came to help with learning or just to check out all the fun, but it definitely made the day a little more purr-fect!

And we’re sharing a few more snapshots from our 5th & 6th grade checkers tournament, so many great matches, big smiles, and some serious strategy happening!

Last week, our students worked incredibly hard each morning taking the IAR tests, and we couldn’t be more proud of their effort and determination!

In the afternoons, our 5th and 6th grade teachers added some fun and excitement by organizing a checker tournament! Students competed in a bracket-style challenge, showing off their strategy, focus, and sportsmanship as they faced off against one another.

After some great matches, we crowned a champion, congratulations to our 5th grade winner!
