🚨 COMMUNITY, WE NEED YOUR HELP. 🚨

We are asking our community to rally together again with us and help identify the owners of these two dogs.

These are not dogs that simply became this thin overnight. But right now, we need your help figuring out where they came from.

🐾 Dog #1: Brindle Male Cane Corso
• Intact male
• Cropped ears and tail
• No identification
• Found Saturday night in the Chatham Road / Blue K**b Road area

🐾 Dog #2: Grey and White Male Pit Bull
• Intact male
• Wearing a brown leather-type collar
• No identification
• Found in the J.S. Holland / Carefree Lane area of Ridgeway

Maybe you recognize them. Maybe you’ve seen them in a yard before. Maybe you know where they lived, who cared for them, or have information that could help our Animal Control Officers determine how they ended up in this condition.

Even a small piece of information could be the piece that points us in the right direction.

If you have information regarding either of these dogs or who they may belong to, please contact us privately through one of the following:

📩 Message the Henry County Animal Shelter page
📞 Shelter Office: 276-656-4266
📞 Animal Control/Dispatch: 276-638-8751, Option 1

We also understand that seeing these photos is difficult and that many of you will immediately be concerned about their current condition. We see it too. Both dogs are receiving the care and medical attention they need with the help of our veterinarians. Right now, what we need most from our community is help determining where they came from.

Please share this post far and wide.

We cannot ask these two boys what happened to them. We cannot ask them where they came from or who they belonged to.

So right now, we have to be their voice. 🐾💔

These dogs have recently arrived at our shelter as strays and we need your help getting them home.

We know we say this often, but it is especially important right now: our shelter is FULL. Please, please keep identification on your pets. A collar with a current phone number or a registered microchip can help us locate an owner quickly and get a lost dog back home instead of taking up a much-needed kennel.

Information about where each dog was found can be found in the description under their individual photo.

If you recognize one of these dogs, know who they may belong to, or believe one is yours, please contact us or come to the shelter as soon as possible.

Even if you don’t recognize them, sharing this post helps!

Biggie has something he needs everyone to hear… and this time, it’s not about him.

Biggie heard that everyone has been calling about him. He’s heard how handsome he is, how many people love that fluffy appearance, and how much interest he’s gotten.

But he’s also noticed something else….

Nobody has been asking about his brother, Pac. 💔

And if Biggie could talk, we’re pretty sure he’d tell you that you’re overlooking the best part of him because if we’re being truthful, Pac is actually the more confident, social and well-behaved one of the two! 😂

While Biggie may be the one catching everyone’s eye, Pac is the reason Biggie is brave enough to face the world. Pac leads the way when Biggie is unsure. He shows him new people are okay. He gives him the confidence to play, explore and just be a dog. When Pac is beside him, Biggie blossoms. When they’re separated, that confidence disappears and Biggie simply doesn’t do well without his brother.

So Biggie has one request for everyone who has fallen in love with him…

Please fall in love with Pac, too. 🐾

We know taking home two dogs instead of one is a BIG ask. But these boys already know how to live life together. They share their toys and food nicely, cuddle together on their beds every night, keep a pretty clean run, do great with other dogs together, and have almost all of their vetting completed minus being altered.

They aren’t asking for separate happy endings.

They’re asking for one together. ❤️

Biggie might be the face that gets your attention, but Pac is his best friend.

Somewhere out there, we’re hoping there’s a family with enough room in their home and their heart to look at these two boys and say…

“You don’t have to lose each other. You can both come home.” 🥹

Hi. It’s me, Teletubby.

I used to have people.

I don’t really know what happened. One day they were my people and then they left. I waited for them for a while. I thought maybe they were coming back. They did not.

But it’s okay, I forgive them. Dogs are pretty good at that.

Then I came here. I’ve met a lot of new people since and I love them! They let me hang out in the office, give me snacks, take me on little adventures and make sure I know I’m a good boy. And I believe them. I’ve also seen a lot of dogs here. The funny thing is… they keep disappearing.

Someone comes to meet them. Everyone gets excited. They walk out the front door with their new person and they don’t come back. I think that means they went home.

I got to do that once.

Someone came just to meet me and I was so excited. Maybe a little too excited. I thought, This is it. They found me!

But I stayed and that was a while ago.

I’ve watched a lot of dogs go home since June 22 and for some reason, I’m still here. The people here tell me I’m handsome. They tell me I’m funny. They call me Tuba Wuba and Tubby and tell me I’m the best old man. They say somebody is going to love me so much someday.

I’m trying really hard to keep believing them. But I’m 9 years old and lately the kennel feels a little harder. I don’t get quite as excited about going back into it anymore. I just want to stay with my people.

I don’t need much. A soft place to sleep. Snacks. Someone to follow around the house. A person who doesn’t mind that sometimes I think personal space is a silly concept. Maybe some zoomies before my old-man nap.

Mostly, I just want someone who stays.

So if all these people say I’m such a good boy, and I promise I’ll love you with everything I’ve got…

how come nobody has picked me yet?

— Tubby
