Thanks to all the young professionals who joined us at Ho**er Field last Friday night to cheer on the Martinsville Mustangs! ⚾️

Our Young Professionals program is still growing, and we'd love to see more local professionals get involved. If you're between the ages of 25 and 45, join our private Facebook group (MHC Yo-Pro) to connect with other young professionals, learn about community resources and events, and grow your network right here in Martinsville-Henry County.

Our next meetup will be at the first TGIF Concert Series in Uptown Martinsville on July 17, hosted by the Martinsville Henry County Rotary Club. We hope to see you there!

Plus, it must be independently owned and operated.

Understanding your eligibility is the first step toward accessing small business resources, certification, and growth opportunities.

🚨Reminder to Local Food-based Businesses🚨
Per Virginia legislation, food vendors are banned from using Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam containers as of July 1st.

As stated on DEQ's website "The EPS ban applies to any food vendor, which is defined as any establishment that provides prepared food for public consumption on or off its premises and includes a store, shop, sales outlet, restaurant, grocery store, supermarket, delicatessen, or catering truck or vehicle; any other person who provides prepared food; and any individual, organization, group, or state or local government entity that regularly provides food as a part of its services."

Need a temporary exemption or waiver? View your options based on where your business is licensed:

Read more about the EPS ban on the Virginia DEQ website - https://tinyurl.com/bdsk5dyd

The Virginia General Assembly passed legislation in 2021 that will ban the use of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) by food vendors. The legislation also discourages the sale and use of EPS products and the encourages the promotion of alternatives to EPS.
