Last month, on July 19, 2026, the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (FCD) turned 75, an achievement backed by decades of smart planning, building resilient infrastructure, and stewardship. Established in response to widespread flooding in Contra Costa County that impacted housing, industry, and agriculture, the FCD has evolved from humble beginnings to a leader in flood management, community preparedness, and watershed sustainability.
