February 24 City Council meeting highlights:
Discussed:
1. Fishing Pier engineering inspection report review. The fishing pier needs to be repaired. It will stay open as we await results on the Prop 68 grant. We asked staff to give us regular updates on the condition of the pier. New signage will be put out.
2. The audited annual financial report was submitted covering fiscal year through June 2020.
3. Approved revised maximum rates for Republic services garbage service rates. Base rates are reviewed every four years (increases are limited during interim years). To incentivize reduction in solid waste per household, rates are increasing at a larger percentage for 64 gal containers than smaller containers.
The meeting recording is available on the city's website. If you have any questions about the meeting, don't hesitate to reach out!

Today, the City of Martinez launched a COVID-19 Small Business Relief Micro-Grant Program for eligible storefront small businesses with 25 employees or less (with the exception of independently owned restaurants, which have no employee limit to be eligible for this program), as part of our continuing efforts to support our small businesses. The program, approved through the Martinez City Council, will provide reimbursement grants of potentially up to $5,000 per business for eligible COVID-19 related expenses, including certain expenses already incurred retroactive to the beginning of the pandemic.

The Micro-Grant application deadline is Monday February 22, 2021 and the link to the guidelines, eligibility requirements, and application form can be viewed here: https://fs23.formsite.com/stRJNN/xcblhqckoh/index.html
