Absentee Voting for the September 8, 2026, West Marshall Community School District Special Election is now open! Visit the Election Center, 107 S 1st Ave, to cast your vote!

Voters may request an Absentee Ballot by filling out the “Official Iowa Absentee Ballot Request Form”. Forms are available at the Marshall County Auditor/Recorder’s Office, Marshall County Election Center or the Marshall County website at https://elections.marshallcountyia.gov/.

To request an absentee ballot by mail, you will need to complete the absentee ballot request form and return to our office by August 24th.

The In-Person absentee voting will begin on Wednesday, August 19th at the Marshall County Election Center, 107 S 1st Ave., through Friday, September 4th, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ID is required.

Monday, September 7, 2026, the Election Center and all other County Courthouse offices will be closed for Labor Day.

Mail your ballot so that is received in our office before 8 PM on Election Day – September 8

Hand-deliver your ballot to the Marshall County Election Center up to 8 PM on Election Day – September 8

Registration Deadline

Voters who want their names to appear on the election registers on election day should preregister to vote by 5 p.m. Visit the Secretary of State Website to register to vote by the deadline. https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterinformation/voterregistration.html

After the pre-registration deadline, any person who is not already registered in the county may register by proving identity and residency. This is called Election Day Registration (EDR), even if it’s done during absentee voting and not on election day at the polls.

If a voter wants to register after the pre-registration deadline in the auditor’s office and vote in the upcoming election, the voter also must vote an absentee ballot at the same time. If the voter wants to vote on election day, the voter must go to the correct precinct and complete the election day registration process.

The West Marshall Community School District will be holding a Special Election on September 8, 2026 for their Physical Plant and Equipment Levy. See Registration and Absentee Voting information below.

Absentee Voting

The Marshall County Auditor/Recorder’s Office is announcing that Absentee Vote by mail and in-person begins Wednesday, August 19th for the West Marshall Community School District.
