Jaxson is one of four Marshalltown Community School District students selected as a National Math Star (NMS) nominee. ✨ This honor recognizes outstanding performance in mathematics—students scoring in the top 2% for their age on recent math assessments. 📊🧠

Jaxson now has the opportunity to apply for additional support and recognition through NMS. 🌟📚

Last week, our amazing 3rd graders wrapped up their CKLA unit on Colonial America! 🎉 To celebrate this milestone, we had a fantastic pausing point day filled with fun colonial games like marbles, jacks, hula hooping, and hopscotch! 🫶 It was such a joy to see the kids engaged and enjoying these timeless activities. Their laughter and excitement truly brought history to life! 🌟

Hoglan 4th graders had a special visit from MHS Orchestra Director Derek Claussen and several MHS orchestra members 🎻. Students learned the names of the string instruments and heard how each one makes a different pitch 🎼🎶.

Preschool watched tiny caterpillars turn into chrysalises — then POP! beautiful butterflies 🦋 — and released them into the wild! Keeping a daily journal of what they saw in their cups and nets made every step even more exciting. Such a fun, hands-on moment from our preschool insect unit!
