More than 50,000 East Texas and Deep East Texas school students are in at-risk situations for failure and of dropping out of school. With the help of Communities in Schools of East Texas (CISET) many will beat the odds this year and stay in school. Communities in Schools of East Texas (administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA)) is part of an innovative national approach established to combat the dropout problem.

CISETX celebrates our ATTENDANCE STAARs! These students were present for all STAAR tutorials, practice assessments, and testing. Most importantly they also passed their STAAR Test. This is an important testament to all other students, illustrating that being present and preparing for our state exams correlates with success in passing them. Each student received a snack bag to enjoy on the last day of school. Attendance STAARs!!!!

From the Desk of Aryn Ricks

“When I began my journey as a CIS Site Coordinator in 2021, I was granted the privilege of supporting the class of 2026 who I was able to see graduate a week ago today. The class of 2026 were my first 8th graders, and my heart is full seeing them cross a finish line. All of my students are not pictured, but I want them all to know how proud I am of them, and the best is yet to come! Just wait and see!”
