Have you seen this sign in a local establishment? The City of Marshall Consumer Health Group conducts a health inspection at every Marshall establishment for food or beverage safety. Upon completion, each establishment is provided a letter grade based on the inspection and required to post this sign at their main entrance. Each recorded violation means that points for that violation are subtracted from a total of 100 points. For example, if an establishment received three minor violations (2 points each), the score is 94 out of 100 and an “A” rating. If an establishment received five severe violations (3 points each), the score would be 85 and a “B” rating. It is important to remember that health inspections are simply a snapshot in time. What occurs during an inspection today may be different than what occurs in the establishment tomorrow.
