🌟 A Huge Thank You to the Chocolay Township Fire and Police Departments! 🚒🚓❤️

Last week, we witnessed a beautiful example of community spirit and kindness. Our hospice patient had a wish of going out for a special ride in his Firebird with his daughter, and thanks to the incredible support of our local fire and police departments, that wish came true.

The departments went above and beyond to help our patient get into the vehicle safely and comfortably. The compassion and dedication made a significant difference and brought immense joy to the family.

It’s gestures like these that remind us of the strength and warmth of our community. Thank you for being heroes in every sense of the word! Hospice is about living!

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of former Chief Leo Goodwin. Leo was a charter member of the CTFD and played a key role in the formation of our department. Leo served our community as a firefighter from 1966 until 1996. During his 27 years as Fire Chief he led the department through growth and modernization and laid the foundation for where our department is today. Even after retirement he continued to regularly participate in department activities and always had words of encouragement. We miss our brother and will be forever grateful for his service to our community. We send our condolences to Leo's family and friends during this difficult time. Rest easy Leo.

Thank you to Crossroads Trucking for providing us with 4 vehicles and the space for members of our department to practice extrication. We are very grateful that they provide us with the opportunity to train and and practice this lifesaving skill.
