🔔 Prueba del Sistema Estatal de Alerta de Emergencia 🔔

La División de Gestión de Emergencias de Texas (TDEM) llevará a cabo una prueba a nivel estatal de los sistemas de alerta de emergencia el jueves 2 de abril de 2026, entre las 10:00 a. m. y las 12:30 p. m.

Durante este periodo, los funcionarios locales enviarán una alerta de prueba a través de Civic Plus, el sistema de notificación de emergencias de nuestra ciudad y condado.

Tenga en cuenta: Esto es solo una prueba, no una emergencia real. Así se indicará en todos los mensajes.

Los sistemas de alerta de emergencia que podrían ser sometidos a prueba incluyen:
• Sistemas de notificación de emergencias por línea fija

🔔Statewide Emergency Alert System Test 🔔

The Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) will be conducting a statewide test of emergency alert systems on Thursday, April 2, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

During this time, local officials will send a test alert through Civic Plus, our city's and county's emergency notification system

Please note: This is only a test, not an actual emergency. This will be indicated in all messages.

Emergency alert systems that may be tested include:
• Landline emergency notification systems
• Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)
• The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System

These tests are being conducted to help ensure emergency communication systems are working properly and allow communities to practice receiving important safety alerts.

Regular testing helps:
✔ Confirm systems are functioning correctly
✔ Prepare the public for real emergencies
✔ Identify areas for improvement in emergency communications

All residents are encouraged to be aware of the test and help spread the word so no one is alarmed when the alert is received.

[Sat 3/21] Avoid outdoor burning or anything that could start a wildfire Sunday as it will be hot, dry, & breezy! 🚫🔥 Wind gusts will be 25 to 35 mph with a few peak gusts up to 40 mph. Never toss lit ci******es, avoid parking/driving on tall grass, & secure tow chains!

This kitty was found outside of Fire Station 1 at 101 Fortune Street yesterday afternoon. Our firefighters brought her inside and have been feeding and caring for her. We are currently trying to locate her family. Please call (254) 883-9255 or message us on Facebook if she belongs to you or if you know where her home is. Thank you for your assistance!
