On behalf of Paula Netto’s family and the MES PTO, we are delighted to publicly celebrate RHAM Senior, Reese Monstream, the incredibly deserving recipient of the 2026 Paula Netto Scholarship. Reese is a shining example of a dedicated student, athlete, and volunteer with a bright future ahead of her. We believe her unwavering determination, resiliency, heartfelt kindness, and radiant positivity are the very qualities that Mrs. Netto embodied and admired. Congratulations, Reese, and we wish you the very best in all your future endeavors! 💛💙

💃🏻 Ole! Our students had the opportunity this past Monday to experience the art, music, and culture of Southern Spain during this week’s multicultural assembly featuring Rebeca Tomás &
A Palo Seco Flamenco Company!

Students learned about the history of Flamenco while enjoying live guitar, singing, dancing, and even discovering some of the techniques that make this cultural art form so unique. It was an energetic, engaging, and memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

❤️ A huge thank you to CoDE and our PTO Co -Vice President, Christine, who works hand-in-hand to bring these incredible multicultural programs and in-school experiences to MES. We are grateful for the opportunities our students have to learn about different cultures, traditions, and perspectives through experiences that go far beyond a textbook.

Thank you for helping bring the world to our students right here at MES! 🌎✨

📚✨ THE MES SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS OPEN! ✨📚

Our Spring 2026 Scholastic Book Fair officially kicked off this morning and we are SO excited for another fun week of books and shopping for our MES students! 💙

This year’s fair runs Tuesday, May 26th through Thursday, May 28th in the MES Community Room and features our Buy One, Get One Free fair! Students will visit during the school day with their classes, plus families can shop during our extended hours:

📚 Wednesday, May 27 | 3–5 PM
🍦 Thursday, May 28 | 6–8 PM Ice Cream Social

Don’t forget to check your Scholastic eWallet accounts too! Any leftover funds from our fall fair are still available in your account and can be used toward this fair’s eWallet balance 🙌🏼

A HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers helping make this event possible. Events like this truly cannot happen without people willing to set up, cashier, decorate, stock shelves, organize, and help students shop for books.

Special shoutout to Carmen, Sandra, and Jasmin who helped get everything opened and running this morning so students could walk into an amazing Book Fair experience right from the start 🥹📚

We are STILL looking for volunteers throughout the week during the school day, for extended hours, ice cream social help, and clean up crew! We currently still have 20 volunteer spots open, and even an hour of help makes a huge difference.

And that’s a wrap on our “Basically Boujee” Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week ✨

What a week it was 🥹

From coffee bar mornings and flower deliveries, to Costco lunch waves, Target Dollar Spot surprises, and our Underground Spirit Day finale… last week was filled with so much love, laughter, creativity, teamwork, and appreciation for our incredible MES staff who give so much to our students every single day.

We watched staff members smile walking into decorated lounges, laugh at themed surprises, proudly show off their spirit day outfits, and feel the love from students, families, volunteers, and our community all week long 💙

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this week possible:

💐 Volunteers who planned, organized, labeled, stuffed bags, tied cards, decorated, and delivered
💐 Student helpers who jumped in with so much excitement and heart
💐 Our local businesses and sponsors who generously donated items, food, drinks, flowers, coupons, and goodies throughout the week

And of course… congratulations to our Underground Spirit Day “Employee of the Month” WINNER 🏆✨
KELLY MIRANDO!!! 💜

Kelly absolutely understood the assignment and brought the employee-of-the-month energy ALL the way 👏😆 (We’re still waiting on a photo! 😉)

Day 4 = Target Dollar Spot ❤️🎯

Today our staff mailboxes got a little extra happy 😍

Each staff member received their own “Dollar Spot” surprise bag filled with fun classroom goodies and treats including Sharpies, highlighters, stickers, gel pens, mini post it’s and of course… a little candy because teachers deserve sweet treats too 🍬✨

We had so much fun turning the staff mailroom into our own mini Target aisle complete with dollar spot signs, balloons, and shelves stocked with surprise bags just waiting for pickup ❤️

Honestly… if you listened closely enough, you could probably hear “Welcome to Target” playing in the distance 😆📢

Our MES staff is always right on target 🎯 With their kindness, patience, creativity, encouragement, energy, and endless support for our students every single day. We are so grateful for YOU! 💙

Lots of happy warehouse members today!! 😆🛒💙

Day 3 of our “Basically Boujee” Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week brought all the Costco food court vibes to the MES staff lounge - complete with lunch, snacks, treats, and bulk-sized appreciation 😉

Teachers stopped by during lunch waves to grab a bite, recharge, and enjoy a well-deserved break with coworkers 🐾

A huge thank you to Chick-fil-A in Glastonbury for generously donating their delicious strawberry hibiscus sunjoy tea, sweet & unsweetened tea, lemonade, and bags of their famous ice. Your support helped make today extra special for our staff!

Seeing our staff smile, laugh, and feel celebrated has made every second worth it. ☺️ We are now halfway through our “Basically Boujee” week and still going strong. 💪✨

Day 2 = blooming with appreciation 💐

Last night and today, we delivered flowers to every single member of our incredible staff - each bouquet paired with so many heartfelt notes from our students. It’s always such a meaningful and beautiful way to show just how appreciated they are 🥹

A HUGE thank you to It's So Ranunculus for providing us with 1,092 carnations and 12 additional floral packages. Your support year after year helps make this day possible and so special for our staff 🌷

And to our amazing “flower ladies” 💕
Ally Mahon and her angel of a mom, Mrs. Hood (both true bouquet queens 👑) who hand-made every single bouquet for our entire staff, including our bus and van drivers, we are beyond grateful. The time, care, and love they pour into each arrangement never goes unnoticed!

Over 1,935+ cards were organized, placed into beautiful individual envelopes, and carefully labeled and tied to each vase by our volunteers last night.

To our PTO volunteers and student helpers, including some of our sweet 6th graders delivering flowers during their final TAW at MES 🥹 thank you for showing up with such heart.

So much love, so much gratitude, and so many smiles today 💙🐾

Because they deserve flowers… always 🌸🌻🌷

Day 1 of Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week = SUCCESS! ☕️✨

Our coffee bar was a HUGE hit! So many sweet compliments and lots of happy, caffeinated teachers this morning 💙

We also transformed the staff lounge with fun, “Basically Boujee” store-inspired touches, creating a space for our staff to relax, recharge, and feel celebrated throughout the day ✨

A HUGE thank you to our local Starbucks for their incredibly generous donation of brewed coffee, refreshers, wrapped pastries, and paper goods! You really helped make this morning extra special!

We’re just getting started… more fun (and a little boujee 😉) coming all week!
