Please be aware that the river is forecasted to rise above the minimum flood stage over the next few days. Sand Bags are available at the Quitman County Distribution Center, 1098 MLK Drive, Marks, MS 38646. If you are picking up filled bags, please contact Emergency Management at 662-326-7909. An update will be provided as the situation develops. All Quitman County Citizens should have an emergency preparedness plan, such as nonperishable food and water. For a detailed list of items, please contact emergency management.

The white-tailed deer is the official state land mammal of MS, and we've got A LOT of them! They're more active at this time of year, too.

Take precautions to avoid collisions with deer on :
🌒 Watch for deer between dusk & dawn
🦌 Brake, don't veer for deer
🚘 Use high beams when safe
