Hey families! Starting this week, we want to help our youngest neighbors fall in love with reading.

Local picture-book author and illustrator, Kristin Emily Friend, will be in the store on Saturday, June 13, to sign a FREE copy of her books.

After making a thrift store purchase, stop by Kristin's table to select one of her four books for FREE.

BONUS: You may also select a FREE 3-D animal representing characters from Kristin's books.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. We are launching our summer Reading Bingo Challenge! 🎯

• Grab your free book and a Bingo card from Kristin.
• Complete fun reading challenges at home (like reading in a blanket fort or using a silly monster voice!).
• Bring the completed card back to the store to select another FREE book! 🎁

Since the Memorial Day yard sales, we have had an abundance of donations. Even though we are truly grateful for all these donations, we have exhausted our storage space. Unfortunately, we must temporarily put a hold on accepting new donations so that we can adequately process what we have. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Please bear with us as we transition through these growing pains. We plan to accept donations again starting the first part of July.

🌅 New Month, New Tags at Friends & Family Thrifting! 🌅

June is here, and a brand new tag color has arrived at the store! Every fresh treasure hitting our racks and shelves this month will be sporting this season's special hue — your first shot at the best new finds!

We're not going to *zest* it all away by telling you what the color is... but let's just say our team is feeling extra ✨ vibrant ✨ this month. Some might even say we're feeling a little... *citrusy*?

Here's a hint: think sunsets. Think summer creamsicles. Think of that fruit you peel before breakfast. Think traffic cones, basketballs, and that one crayon every kid fights over.

On May 23rd, Simply Sisters Acai food truck will be at Friends & Family Thrifting from 10am - 2pm. Simply Sisters Acai is well known and a favorite at many regional events. What a difference a few days make! After months of cold, snow, and blizzard conditions, we were blessed with sunshine and near 60 degrees — and today felt absolutely perfect.

It put us in a beachy mood, so we set up a display of some of our summer and beach items. Just a small sampling of what we've got — there's plenty more with lots of variety!

We can't wait to share it all with you when Friends & Family Thrifting opens this spring at 4625 National Pike, Markleysburg, PA.
