As of 2:30pm on January 3rd, 2025, The National Pike Water Authority has completed repair of the leak in Farmington. Our staff will be flushing water lines in the affected areas today (1/3/2025) and tomorrow (1/4/2025). If you have cloudy water, please let the water run for a while as it should clear up.

The National Pike Water Authority is currently experiencing a water leak along Route 40 near the Health Center Pharmacy. Crew is being dispatched to investigate and repair. Water service from Dinner Bell Five Forks to Chalk Hill will be impacted.

The National Pike Water Authority office has reopened with new hours. The office will now be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8am to 12pm and 1pm to 4 pm.

Payments may still be dropped in the drop box outside the office door at any time. Please do not put cash payments in the drop box.

The National Pike Water Authority business office has & will continue to be temporarily closed due to circumstances beyond our control. Board Members are actively working on billing, payments and other office tasks. We ask for your patience as we learn the system. Billing for October has not been sent out yet but should be sent out soon. Due to this, late fees have been turned off until January.

When calling the office, please leave a detailed message, along with your name, name on the account, account number, phone number and/or address so we can ensure your issue is resolved in a timely manner. The NPWA apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope to have things running smoothly very soon.

Dick Dennis Memorial Scholarship

The Dick Dennis Memorial Scholarship is a new cash-scholarship fund put in place by the MFC to continue Dick's legacy by giving to the youth in the community.

The MFC is starting up the fund initially and 50% of profits of the community festival (July 3rd) will go towards scholarship going forward! (The other 50% will go to help with the new memorial pavilion being built)

In 2021, Three (3) - $500 Scholarships will be presented to awarded applicants at the 1st Annual Dick Dennis Memorial Community Festival on July 3, 2021

Applicants must live within thirty (30) miles of the MFC (5034 National Pike, Markleysburg, PA)

Applicants must be a senior in High School and planning to attend a trade-school, community college, or college/university.

Qualifying Applicants must complete form and attach an essay to be eligible to be awarded one of the three $500 scholarships this year.

Applications will be reviewed & selections will be by a select panel combined of representatives from Mountain Fellowship Center, Marcon Building Supply, New Life Covenant Church, and National Pike Water Authority

Today, Dick’s family and friends said goodbye to our dear friend. Our hearts are broken for them, but the tributes given by his family & friends at the funeral (shared below on our FB page) was absolutely beautiful. It truly shows the love he gave and received from his family and community. The sign will come down at some point, life will continue but Dick’s handprint will forever imprint our community. Thank you again Dick for being an amazing leader & mentor to us.

We have been contacted by a couple individuals and organizations and the MFC Board is starting to work on a project to honor this amazing man & community. If you are interested in participating, please feel free to contact us.

When you talk to anyone in the mountain area and bring up the word water, the first name anyone says is Dick Dennis. Those water conversations usually lead to discussion about the National Pike Water Authority to which many respond with ‘oh that’s Dick Dennis.’ There is no question as to why his name is associated, Dick has been a key member of the National Pike Water Authority from its inception.

Anyone who has been part of the NPWA board or involved in anything water related in the mountain area, knew Dick would be there, sharing insight and knowledge. From sitting in one of the front office chairs discussing day to day operations, to stopping along the road to check on projects or repairs and, of course, sitting at the board room table discussing projects, negotiations and any other topic involved with water, Dick was always actively involved where water was concerned.

Dick’s passion, vast knowledge and vision of the water world will be greatly missed. Here at the NPWA it will always be a little different without Dick here, but we are beyond thankful for the knowledge and dedication he has shared with so many of us over the years.

The Fire Departments are fighting a structure fire. Chalkhill residents may experience low water pressure. You may also have some discolored water for a few days. We will work to get it cleaned up. Thank you NPWA
