What if every adult was a Mandated Reporter?

Imagine the difference we could make if every adult knew the signs of child abuse and neglect and felt empowered to take action when a child needed help. 💙

Protecting children isn’t just a professional responsibility~it’s a community responsibility. Every report has the potential to change a child’s life, provide safety, and connect families with the support they need.

If you suspect a child may be experiencing abuse or neglect, don’t ignore the signs! Your voice could be the one that helps protect a child and creates a brighter future.

📞 To report suspected child abuse or neglect:
• Mariposa County HHSA Protective Services: 209-742-0900
• Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office: 209-966-3615

🚨 If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.

Want to learn more about recognizing the signs of abuse and your role as a Mandated Reporter? Training opportunities are available for everyone in our community.

At Mariposa Safe Families, we believe that every parent deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen their family relationships.

Through our jail-based services, we provide Nurturing Parenting Classes that help incarcerated parents develop positive parenting skills, build healthy connections with their children, and prepare for successful family reunification. 💙

Our Team is committed to walking alongside incarcerated parents as they work to create positive change in their lives and families, by providing parents with opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen their parenting skills ~ in turn building healthier family relationships and stronger communities.

A special shoutout to Stephanie and Becky for their dedication, compassion, and hard work in making these services possible. Your commitment to supporting families and creating positive change in our community does not go unnoticed! 💪🏼💙

Yesterday Supervisor Toso delivered two proclamations to the HHSA staff.

Elder & Dependent Adult Abuse Prevention month sheds light on the importance of recognizing the signs of abuse. Elder and dependent adult abuse takes many forms, some more obvious than others. Physical, mental, sexual, and financial abuse, as well as neglect and self-neglect are recognized in state law as forms of elder and dependent adult abuse.

Imminent danger or immediate risk? Call 911. Suspect abuse or neglect? Call 209-742-0900. Mandate reporters: Don't forget to complete SOC form 341 within 2 working days and fax it to 209-742-0994.

Eligibility Worker Appreciation Month highlights the important individuals who are dedicated to supporting individuals through all stages of aid. They work diligently to find supportive programs through our System of Care approach and believe that each family and individual they work with can succeed! We thank them today and every day for the work they do!

Need to apply for assistance? Call or stop by our office to apply 209-966-2000 or 1-800-549-6741 or apply online at benefitscal.com

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You to the Amazing Team at Foster Ace Hardware!🌟

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the incredible team at Foster Ace Hardware for their continued support of Mariposa Safe Families. 💙

Each April, Foster Ace Hardware generously sponsors a community raffle benefiting our organization. Thanks to the support of our wonderful community and the dedication of the Foster Ace Hardware team, this year’s raffle raised more than $1,900 to support our mission of strengthening families, protecting children, empowering youth, and providing time sensitive support when our community is in need. ✨

Community partnerships like this truly make a lasting impact and help ensure that local children, families and seniors have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. We are deeply grateful for Foster Ace Hardware’s commitment to giving back and investing in the well-being of our Mariposa community! 🦋

We are excited to announce our newest community wellness initiative…. “The Healing Chapter” Book Club ~ a welcoming space created for healing, reflection, and meaningful connection. Life can be busy and challenging, and this book club offers an opportunity to slow down, share experiences, and connect with others in a supportive, judgment-free environment. 🤍

Come be part of conversations that inspire healing, resilience, and personal growth while helping us choose our very first book. Every story holds the power to heal, and every chapter creates a new opportunity for connection. ✨

**This initiative is funded and supported by the Central California Alliance for Health**
