K-2 students wrapped up the school year with our final PBIS assembly today! 🎉
We reflected on our four Marion Way traits—Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Integrity—and talked about ways we can continue demonstrating them at home and in our community throughout the summer.
To celebrate a fantastic year of learning and growth, we finished our assembly with an all-school recess filled with music, bubbles, and lots of fun! ☀️🫧🎶
What a great way to kick off summer while remembering the values that make our school community so special!

We had a fantastic time celebrating the last day of school today! 🎉
Our teachers and staff kicked off the morning by welcoming students as they arrived with their families. Then, students made their way through a special greeting line filled with smiles, cheers, and plenty of high fives as we celebrated an amazing year together.
What a wonderful way to wrap up a year full of learning, growth, and memories. Have a safe and fun summer! ☀️❤️💛

To celebrate the last day of preschool Wednesday all of the preschool classes went to Lowe Park. What a fun way to end a fun year!

🎓 On Monday evening, our full-day and half-day preschool classes celebrated their Preschool Graduation! We had so much fun recognizing all of our amazing graduates. The students proudly sang songs, received their diplomas, and celebrated all they have learned and accomplished this year. We are so proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to see all the wonderful things they do next!

It’s been a busy few days filled with celebrations at Longfellow! ☀️🎉
We kicked off the fun with Beach Day on Friday to celebrate an amazing school year, followed by Inflatable Day on Monday to recognize all the incredible growth our students made on FAST Reading assessments. We wrapped up the festivities with Kona Ice on Tuesday after students achieved an outstanding milestone—reading more than 300,000 minutes at home this year!
We are so proud of our students for their hard work, growth, and dedication to learning. What a fantastic way to celebrate a year of success! 📚🌟

📢 Summer Receipt Challenge is Here! 🍦

Your child recently brought home an envelope and flyer from the Longfellow Parent Group. This summer, we need your help collecting receipts from Hy-Vee, Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh, and Hy-Vee Pharmacy!

✅ Save any qualifying receipts from now through the end of summer. (If you have receipts you have been saving since April, those count too!)
✅ Place them in the envelope that was sent home (or any envelope if the original gets misplaced).
✅ Return the receipts at Open House or during the first week of school and give them to your child’s new teacher.

🏆 The class that turns in the highest receipt total will earn an ice cream party at the beginning of the new school year!

Start a collection spot at home now so those receipts don’t get lost. Every receipt helps support our school and brings your child’s class one step closer to a sweet reward! 🍨
