A few rounds of heavy rainfall are expected later this evening through Sunday evening, most widespread tonight into Sunday morning. Flash flooding is possible. Please don't drive through flooded roads.

A few rounds of scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to track east to southeast across the region this evening through early to mid-morning Sunday. Strong to severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are likely. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings.

Southern Chase County in east central Kansas...
Northwestern Butler County in south central Kansas...
Southern Marion County in central Kansas...

* Until 815 PM CDT.

* At 712 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles east of
Peabody, moving southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Fire Department. At 7:11 pm the Peabody Fire Dpeartment
estimated wind gusts to 70 mph.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
El Dorado, Marion, Peabody, Whitewater, Florence, Potwin, Walton,
Elbing, Burns, Cassoday, Matfield Green, Cedar Point, Wonsevu, El
Dorado Lake, and El Dorado State Park.

This includes Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 68 and 106.

Another addition to the herd. I love that these rhinos are as unique as the businesses and individuals who claim them. While some lean to more colorful or cartoony styles, others - like JetSet Clothing Co. - celebrate their clean, modern minimalist aesthetic. Thank you to Ava Box and Davinah Mwirigi for this beautiful addition. I can attest to how difficult that clean lettering is to achieve on textured statues. Great job!

Northeastern Marion County in central Kansas...

* Until 930 PM CDT.

* At 824 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lincolnville,
or 10 miles northeast of Marion, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Marion, Cottonwood Falls, Strong City, Lincolnville, Ramona,
Bazaar, Lost Springs, Elmdale, Cedar Point, Hymer, Tallgrass
Prairie, Pilsen, Saffordville, and Tallgrass Prairie Preserve.

Additional storm information from the NWS.

The focus for storm development over the next couple hours will be towards the cold front near the Nebraska border. As the evening progresses, scattered storms should progress southeast across the area. Not everyone will see a storm, but a few of the storms that do develop will likely be severe, so stay tuned to the weather this evening.
