Great news for Southern Illinois! Significant investments like these continue to strengthen our region’s industrial sites and position Southern Illinois for future growth and investment.

⚡️ELECTRIFYING NEWS! More than $2 million in new Site Readiness funding through the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity will upgrade electric infrastructure at the REDCO Industrial Park on Marion's northwest side, prepare additional industrial sites in Saline and Massac counties, and help establish a Foreign Trade Zone in Southern Illinois. Combined with nearly $5 million announced earlier this year for the Metropolis Industrial Park, the region has now secured approximately $8 million in Site Readiness funding in 2026.

These strategic investments are helping ensure Southern Illinois is ready to compete for new jobs, new industries, and long-term economic growth!

Greater Egypt Regional Planning & Development Commission is proud to share that several partner communities and institutions secured Delta Regional Authority SEDAP grant awards as part of Illinois’ $3.1 million investment.

With Greater Egypt’s grant support, funding was awarded to:

✅City of Herrin

✅Franklin Hospital

✅Hands of Hope Foundation

✅City of Carterville

✅City of Pinckneyville

✅Southern Illinois University

These projects will strengthen local infrastructure, expand services, and support long-term economic growth across our region.
