Cave-in-Rock Ferry Closed Due to High Winds

PADUCAH, Ky. (Mar. 15, 2026) – The Cave-in-Rock Ferry closed at about 10 a.m., today, Sunday, Mar. 15, due to high winds.

The ferry authority will notify the public of its reopening via their page at www.facebook.com/CIRFerry.

The Cave-In-Rock Ferry connects KY 91 with IL Route 1 across the Ohio River between Crittenden County, KY, and Hardin County, IL.

Operates 6:00 am to 10:00 pm CT, daily including all holidays. Last run from IL is at 9:40 pm. Last run from KY is at 9:50 pm.

Marion Police Department has an open investigation and are looking to identify these two subjects that entered one of our local business's.

The female and male are possibly traveling together. They both passed fake money at two seperate locations of a business in Marion. It appears that they are handing over the fake money to have it applied to a app. These individuals were in Fredonia, KY doing the same thing, then came to Marion to pull their stunts. Unknown direction of travel and what kind of vehicle they were in.
