Walmart Store #1336 in Marion is hosting a First Responder Day today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Stop by for a meet and greet with your local first responders, including officers from the Marion Police Department. This is a great opportunity to meet the men and women who serve our community, ask questions, and learn more about the services available to you.

👶🏼🚗 Additionally, certified Car Seat Safety officers will be on site conducting child passenger safety seat inspections to help ensure your little ones are traveling safely.

This week, Sergeant Dillow and Senior Police Officer Blevins had the opportunity to attend the SEIAATI 52nd Annual Vehicle Crimes Conference in Miami 🌴 through the Virginia HEAT (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) Grant Program, with all training and travel expenses covered through the program. More than 200 law enforcement officers from across Virginia participated in this valuable learning experience.

The conference provided advanced training on vehicle theft investigations, emerging auto crime trends, fraud detection, technology used in vehicle-related crimes, and collaborative enforcement strategies. The knowledge and skills gained will directly enhance our department’s ability to investigate vehicle thefts, identify criminal trends, recover stolen property, and strengthen partnerships with law enforcement agencies throughout the region and beyond.

We appreciate the opportunity provided through the HEAT Program and remain committed to pursuing professional development opportunities that help us better serve and protect our community 🚓🔥
