Marion Fire-EMS Marion Fire-EMS was established on March 1, 2015 through the merger of the Marion Fire Department (est. 1888) and the Marion Life Saving Crew (est 1948).

The Marion Fire-EMS Department was established on March 1, 2015 through a merger of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, which was established in 1888) and the Marion Life Saving Crew, which was established in 1948. Both organizations bring a long and proud history to the new Department and we look forward to serving the residents of our coverage area for many years to come! This morning Marion Town Manager Andrew Keen announced that the Marion Town Council has appointed Richard Keesling, Jr. as the Chief of Marion Fire-EMS, succeeding Chief Rusty Hamm.

Chief Keesling has been a member of the Department for nearly 40 years and most recently served as the Department's Deputy Chief of Operations. Congratulations Chief Keesling!
