Please join in congratulating Deputy Police Chief Chad Nott on his graduation from the 290th session of the FBI National Academy on June 6, 2024. The FBI National Academy, which is located in Quantico, Virginia, is a 10-week program of professional study and physical training for U.S. and international law enforcement managers. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers have the opportunity to attend the program and Deputy Chief Nott is the first Marion police officer to attend and graduate from the program. The goal of the National Academy is to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge and cooperation worldwide. During his 10-weeks at Quantico, he completed several college level leadership courses and successfully navigated the “Yellow Brick Road,” a final fitness challenge designed by U.S. Marines that is comprised of a 6.1 mile obstacle course, through the woods. As a symbol of his success, Deputy Chief Nott will proudly display his yellow brick, inscribed with 290, in his office when he returns to work. While it was a sacrifice for him to attend this prestigious training, the wealth of knowledge he will bring back to the department, and the City, makes it a worthwhile endeavor.

Congratulations, Chad!
