Paving is underway throughout the Town of Marion beginning today.

Below is a list of affected streets.

Cumberland, Patton, Graham, East Main, Locust, Tazewell, Johnston, Groseclose, Snavely, Pearl, Broad, Rte 16, Market, Acton, Wilden, Sycamore, and Red Oak.

Expect traffic delays. We appreciate your patience over the next few weeks.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Town of Marion Offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.

There will be no garbage pickup on Monday, May 25, 2026, due to the holiday. This will be collected on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Garbage collection for the remainder of the week will not change. Garbage must be at the curb by 7:30 a.m.

The Town of Marion, VA, in partnership with VFW 4667, provides an opportunity to display a Memorial flag and cross to honor deceased service veterans during the annual Memorial Day commemoration.
The white cross lists the servicemembers’ name and branch of service, topped with an
American flag, and displayed downtown.

Marion Downtown, in partnership with the Town of Marion, received two grants to complete a comprehensive Community Vision for the historic downtown district, dubbed “Marion 2035”. The studies were divided between two agencies – Friends of Southwest Virginia and Marion Downtown, with the partnering agency for both being the Virginia Main Street Program of the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development. The end result is this community-based look at the history, existing conditions, and future opportunities for Marion’s Historic Downtown.
