MHS students gathered for one last recognition rally to wrap up the school year. Mrs. Smallegan out stacked a couple students in a cup stacking challenge to encourage gaining some life experiences this summer. You never know what you could learn and what skill may come in handy one day.
Awards from teachers came in droves to recognize the MPACT members, SLS members, middle school math Homework Heroes, and a collection of teacher nominated titles created by MPACT to appreciate everything from the Human Microphone, Locked In, or Good Vibes Only among others. The students in the picture got to stay later and relax a bit before heading back to class. Why this group? They all completed semester 2 without any unexcused tardies to any class. Promptness is a good skill to have if life.
Happy end of the school year and best thinking to all students taking exams!

Good morning, Eagles.

I am pleased to announce that last night Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed HB 5797 into law, which provides additional forgiveness days for the March and April storms.

With this bill now signed, Marion will not have to make up any additional school days, and we will return to the original school calendar. The last day of school will be Friday, May 29th.

Please note:
-Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 29th will both be half days.
-Jr./Sr. High School will dismiss at 11:20 AM.
-Elementary School will dismiss at 11:30 AM.

Thank you for your continued patience and support while waiting for the government to make this important decision. Enjoy the rest of your week, and finish the school year strong!

The 8th Grade US History Class had a blast working with students from Mason County Central as they prepared for their 3rd and final Students of Democracy presentation which was delivered in the form of a mock senate hearing. Both schools organized into groups and prepared a constitutional argument based on current events and backed up with Supreme Court case law. Once completed, students of the opposite school offered constructive feedback to strengthen the presenter's argument. MCC, thanks again for organizing this activity and the 8th grade US History Class from Marion wishes you luck with your final presentations!
