Laura and Erica stopped by PatchWorks House last week to visit with Executive Director Barb Flood, and take a tour of the facilty.

A longtime UWNCO-funded community impact program, Patchworks House has been filling a gap in specialized support and safety for families for 32 years, now serving a wide swath of Ohio and beyond, including all five of the counties United Way of North Central Ohio serves - Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Seneca, and Wyandot. Patchworks House works closely with local courts and law enforcement, Child Protective Services, attorneys, counselors, and families themselves to craft personalized service plans that increase the safety and comfort of children and families who have experienced conflict and/or family violence.

The program coordinates and monitors visitation and the exchange of children in their secure Tiffin location, with child-friendly, home-like spaces for all ages. Patchworks House also has satellite sites in Bucyrus and Fostoria.

Many thanks to everyone at Patchworks House and the entities they rely on for support for providing this invaluable community service, and thank you to the generous United Way donors who make our continued funding possible!

What a great Seneca County Blitz Day! Nikki, Natalie, Erica, and Laura spent Thursday distributing workplace campaign packets and visiting with supporters and partners across Tiffin and Seneca County. Thank you to everyone for taking the time to talk to us! Look out, Crawford - you're next!

Community impact is on the move! Our UWNCO Mobile Workplace Campaign enables your organization to support our annual impact efforts completely online. We'll set up a link that gives your employees all the info they need to make the decision to help fund our community partners in Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Seneca, & Wyandot counties. They'll use our secure mobile giving app to make a direct donation or a pledge via payroll deduction, with the option to designate their gift to a specific county or impact area. We'll provide you with regular updates, and HR will get a wrap-up report for payroll deductions at the close of the campaign. Reach out to us at 740-383-3108 for more info!

Our community impact partners at Bucyrus Backpack Program, LLC and their tireless crew of volunteers pack shelf-stable weekend meals for more than 500 students in Crawford County - EVERY WEEK - during the school year! We are happy to continue our support of this invaluable program with a 2026-2027 Small Sustaining Grant.

Marion County! Get ready to be part of The Big Table!

📣 SAVE THE DATE 📆

We are excited to announce The Big Table is coming to Marion!

WHAT: The Big Table is a community-wide day of conversation designed to bring people together, strengthen connections, and inspire civic engagement. Discussions will focus on topics such as health, housing, behavioral health, food access, economic opportunity, and other issues that matter to our community. The insights shared will help inform Marion's upcoming Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

WHO: Everyone is welcome! Residents, community organizations, businesses, and anyone who cares about the future of Marion are encouraged to participate.

WHEN: September 29, 2026, with conversations taking place throughout the day.

WHERE: Locations will be announced soon. We are working to offer multiple meeting sites across the community.

HOW: A registration form will be released in the coming weeks so participants can reserve a seat at the conversation location that works best for them.

Our funded community partner, First Step, is making an even bigger impact in Seneca County with this expansion to Downtown Tiffin. The new location provides a safe space for individuals experiencing domestic violence to meet with Criminal Justice Liaison Marissa Orzechowski for help navigating the justice process.

First Step Domestic Violence Services is expanding its presence in Seneca County with a new secure location in Downtown Tiffin. 💜

The new location will provide individuals with a private, accessible place to receive support while navigating the criminal justice system and connecting with local resources.

The expansion comes just in time for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and will help bring important services closer to the courts, law enforcement, Victim Assistance, and other community partners.
