Structure fire we assisted with this morning

Crittenden County firefighters spent more than four hours battling a house fire early Monday on KY 855 South near Frances.

A countywide fire department page was issued at 3:06 a.m. for a modular or double-wide home that was reported fully engulfed in flames.

Crittenden County, Marion, Salem and Fredonia fire departments responded to the blaze. Firefighters remained at the scene through the early morning hours and began wrapping up operations around 7:30 a.m.

The residents were in the house when the blaze began but were able to get out unharmed.

This is why we have implemented a countywide mutual aid for all structure fires. All departments in the county are paged for structure fires and aid from surrounding counties may be requested depending on the situation.

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 5:22 PM we were dispatched to a baler and tractor fire spreading to the surrounding hay. Salem Fire and Rescue was requested for mutual aid. Units arrived on scene, and began fire attack and were able to disconnect the tractor and save it with minimal damage. Units worked on scene for approximately one hour before clearing.

Hay Baler, Grass Fire on Runyan Road

Crittenden County Volunteer Fire Department and Salem Fire Department responded Sunday evening to a hay baler and grass fire on Runyan Road.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and are now clearing the scene. No injuries have been reported.
