Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice helped protect the freedoms, safety, and opportunities that we cherish every day.

At Marion County Children’s Services, we are especially grateful for those who served to protect future generations — including the children and families in our community. As we spend time with loved ones this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to reflect on the courage, selflessness, and legacy of our fallen heroes.

We remember. We honor. We thank you.

Today, Marion County Children Services was honored to present a proclamation recognizing May as National Foster Care Month. 💙

This proclamation serves as a meaningful reminder of the incredible impact foster families, kinship caregivers, caseworkers, community partners, and supporters make in the lives of children every single day.

We are deeply grateful for the individuals and families in our community who open their hearts and homes to children in need of safety, stability, and hope. Your compassion changes lives.

Throughout Foster Care Month, we celebrate the strength and resilience of children and families while continuing to raise awareness about the ongoing need for foster homes and community support right here in Marion County.

Thank you to the Marion County Commissioners for recognizing the importance of foster care and standing alongside the children and families we serve.

Teenagers get a bad rap like they woke up one day and chose chaos for fun. They didn’t. Most of them just learned early that depending on people is risky, so yeah, they come in guarded, sarcastic, and ready to test every inch of you. And honestly? Good. That means they’re paying attention. Teens will call you out, read the room faster than adults, and notice every little thing you do right and wrong. They don’t want perfect, they want real, and they will absolutely drag you before they trust you. But when they do? They are loyal, funny, brutally honest, and way more capable than people give them credit for. Everyone says they want to help kids… until those kids can think for themselves.

🌟 May the 4th Be With You… and the Children of Marion County! 🌟

In a galaxy not so far away—right here in Marion County—there are children who need heroes. Not the kind with lightsabers (though that would be pretty cool), but everyday heroes willing to open their hearts and homes.

At Marion County Children’s Services, we believe the Force is strong in our community—especially in those who step up to support children and families in need. Whether you’re a foster parent, kinship caregiver, volunteer, or advocate, you are making a difference that truly matters.

💫 You don’t have to be a Jedi to change a life.
💙 You just have to care.

If you’ve ever felt the pull to help, this might be your moment. Join us in bringing hope, stability, and love to the children who need it most.

📞 Want to learn more about becoming a foster parent or supporting our mission? Reach out today—we’d love to connect.

✨ May the 4th be with you… always. ✨

Every child deserves to feel safe.
Every family deserves the opportunity to grow stronger.
And every community has the power to make a difference.
When we come together—neighbors, caregivers, mentors, and advocates—we create something bigger than ourselves: a place where children are protected, families are supported, and hope can take root.
It starts with awareness.
It grows through compassion.
And it thrives with action.
Let’s continue building a community where safe children, strong families, and supportive communities aren’t just goals—they’re realities. 💙

Happy Earth Day! 🌎💙

At Marion County Children Services, we are reminded that caring for our children and caring for our world go hand in hand. The environment our children grow up in—both at home and in the community—shapes their sense of safety, stability, and hope for the future.

Today is a chance to reflect on the responsibility we share to create a healthier, safer, and more nurturing world for every child. Whether it’s planting a tree, cleaning up a neighborhood, or simply modeling respect for the world around us, small actions can leave a lasting impact on the lives of the children and families we serve.

Together, we can build a brighter future—one where every child has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and feel secure in the world around them.
