Hands of Hope exists to educate about and prevent domestic and sexual violence. Domestic and sexual violence are issues that not only affect men and women, but their families and our community. We serve and strive to improve the well-being of all who seek our services. These services include advocacy for victims of domestic and sexual violence in our office, referrals to our safe shelter, weekly s

upport groups for Victims of Domestic Violence and educational programs to teach students about healthy relationships. If you are interested in having us speak at your school, church, or organization, please contact us via e-mail or phone. Any questions or comments can be posted on our wall and we will do our best to reply to your inquiries. Please note, our page is not monitored 24 hours a day. Feel free to send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

The greenspace is open! We are thankful for Matthews Town Council and Greater Grant County for celebrating with us last night by cutting the ribbon on the location designed by Voss Landworks LLC. It’s the simple things—knowing your neighbor, checking in on someone, having a conversation, letting our kids play together, and creating spaces where people feel welcome and included—that help build stronger communities.

By coming together and refusing to accept violence as a normal part of our community, we all play a role in prevention. We hope this is a space that Matthews will enjoy for many years to come—a place to play, relax, connect, and build community.

If you didn’t make it last night, we would still love to hear what you think, our survey is still open.

Labor Day’s about honoring workers and their right to safe workplaces. Yet 1 in 5 workers experience the impacts of domestic violence on the job. It’s time we recognize domestic violence as a workplace issue.

Futures Without Violence, through Workplaces Respond, partners with employers to provide the tools and training they need to protect and support their workforce.

This Labor Day, let’s commit to safer workplaces for all! 💚

A special thanks to the Sisters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Marion, who handmade these wonderfully unique SOAP S.A.C.K. which stands for Supporting Community With Kindness and includes a bar of soap. Each month since April the Sisters have put together and donated hygiene, cleaning supplies and other items to Hands of Hope to support victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and stalking. It has been such a blessing to us and we wanted to show them some kindness in return. Thank you ladies!

Recovery is not about forgetting what you’ve been through. It’s about discovering that your story can continue beyond it. 💜

During National Recovery Month, we honor every survivor who is healing, rebuilding, rediscovering their strength, and learning what it feels like to live life on their own terms.

Healing doesn’t have a timeline. Some days may feel like huge steps forward, while others may simply be about making it through the day. Both are progress.

To every survivor: your past does not define your future. Your voice matters. Your choices matter. Your healing matters. YOU matter.

And when you’re ready for support, Hands of Hope is here to walk alongside you—with compassion, confidentiality, and without judgment.

There is hope. There is healing. And there is a future waiting for you. 💜
