The Bold Tiger Battalion recently commissioned the next generation of Army officers during Marion Military Institute’s Spring Commissioning Ceremony.

This milestone represents years of discipline, sacrifice, leadership development, and commitment to service. These newly commissioned Second Lieutenants now join the profession of arms prepared to lead soldiers and serve our nation.

We were honored to welcome Major General David Pritchett, The Adjutant General of Alabama, as our guest speaker and oath administrator. His presence and remarks reinforced the significance of the responsibility these young officers now assume as leaders in the United States Army.

The ceremony was not simply the end of a college program — it was the beginning of a lifetime of service.

Congratulations to our newest Army officers. The future of our Army is stronger because of your leadership!Adjutant General of the Alabama National Guard

Closing out the year on a high note.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of contracting our final cadets of the school year here at Marion Military Institute. Each contract represents a commitment to something bigger than self—service, discipline, and the responsibility to lead in the profession of arms.

As part of that commitment, these cadets also donned the official Army ROTC patch for the first time—a visible symbol that they’ve stepped into the ranks and accepted the challenge to lead. It’s a small piece of cloth, but it carries the weight of responsibility, standards, and pride that come with earning it.

Proud of what they’ve accomplished to get to this point—and even more excited to see what they’ll do next. The future of our Army is in great hands.

Today our cadets conducted the Combat Water Survival Test (CWST).

For many, it’s a straightforward event. But for some, it requires stepping outside their comfort zone and working through real hesitation in the water. We saw cadets push themselves, trust their training, and make progress where it mattered.

That’s what this program is about—developing leaders who can stay composed, adapt in unfamiliar environments, and continue moving forward when challenged.

Proud of every cadet who got in the water today.

Last weekend, the Bold Tiger Battalion partnered with GMC and JAX ROTC programs to execute a large-scale field training exercise with more than 178 cadets in attendance.

Cadets were evaluated on land navigation during both day and night conditions, reinforcing individual proficiency and confidence in austere environments. The training culminated in over 30 continuous hours of patrolling across 10 tactical lanes, where cadets applied troop leading procedures, executed missions, and demonstrated disciplined small-unit leadership under realistic conditions.

This training directly supports preparation for Cadet Summer Training, ensuring our cadets are ready to excel at Advanced Camp this summer and perform to standard in a high-demand, assessed environment.

We were also honored to host Major General David Pritchett, The Adjutant General of Alabama, who took time to engage directly with cadets, provide mentorship, and recognize outstanding performance with challenge coins.

This event highlights the continued focus on building competent, confident, and mission-ready future Army leaders.

We thank Congressman Gary Palmer for his support of the Patriot Pipeline and in recognition of this significant milestone.

We are proud to welcome John Hammac, selected through the Patriot Pipeline and accepted into MMI’s Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program, representing Alabama’s 6th Congressional District, as a member of the Class of 2028.

The Patriot Pipeline is a partnership with the Alabama congressional delegation through which members of Congress nominate outstanding students from their districts for participation in MMI’s Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program, helping identify and develop future Army officers.

Congratulations to John on this outstanding achievement. We look forward to his continued development at Marion Military Institute and future service as a US Army Officer!! 🇺🇸💪🪖

I was honored to present John Hammac of Shelby County with the Patriot Pipeline Scholarship for Marion Military Institute.

Programs like these are critical to developing the next generation of military leaders, and I have no doubt John will represent our state well and serve our nation with honor.
