Marion Fire / EMS This is the Official page of the Marion Fire Department. Welcome to the Marion Fire Department page . We hope you find it informative.

The Marion Fire Department proudly protects a population of over 5,000 in an area 14.63 square miles. The Department was established in 1905. We operate out of two stations with about forty firefighters. Apparatus includes 3 engine companies, 1 reserve engine, an aerial ladder/platform truck, two wild land brush breakers, 3 support vehicles, 2 Ambulances and two boats. To the Marion Fire Departmen

t, there is nothing more important than the community we serve, and the men and women of this organization recognize their responsibility to help ensure the safety of our citizens. In that regard, the philosophy of “service first” has been bestowed upon every member of the Department. For more than 100 years, our Department has strived to adapt and change as the risks, threats, and challenges to the community have changed. However, I firmly believe that our greatest asset in carrying out the MFD mission is our team of hard-working Firefighters, dedicated to the delivery of quality public safety service. The Marion Fire Department consists of approximately 40 “call” firefighters. We are not a full time Department, “call” means that the firefighters respond from home, work or where ever they may be.

On Friday evening, Engine 3, staffed with Lt. Tripp, FF Peckham, and FF Hume-Hennessy provided coverage for the Town of Marshfield at their Station 2 while members honored the life of Captain William Shields. It was an honor to provide coverage and support their members during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the Taunton and Quincy Fire Departments.
