National Police Week is a reminder that the law enforcement community stands together through grief, remembrance and service.

This week, we honor the fallen officers whose sacrifice will never be forgotten and the families who continue to keep their memories alive. We also recognize the officers who continue to serve their communities each day, carrying that legacy forward. https://trib.al/5TAYDg3

The Marion Police Department is aware of concerns being circulated online regarding one of our officers involving an incident that occurred over a year ago while employed by another agency.
That incident was previously investigated by the Arkansas State Police, and the officer was cleared of wrongdoing following that investigation. This matter was discussed and addressed during the pre-hire background investigation.
Out of respect for the concerns expressed by the family and members of the community, the Marion Police Department obtained the investigative case file from the Arkansas State Police and is actively reviewing the information. At this time, the information reviewed by this department has been consistent with the findings of the original investigation; however, the review process remains ongoing.
We understand that incidents discussed on social media can generate strong opinions and emotions. However, we believe it is important that discussions surrounding these matters include the full context and outcome of official investigations.
The Marion Police Department remains committed to professionalism, accountability, and serving the community with integrity. We appreciate the continued support of our officers and the community we serve.

If you have any information related to this incident please contact the Marion Police Department. 870-739-2101

The FBI is aware of a service disruption affecting an online Learning Management System (LMS). This disruption has impacted schools, educational institutions, and students across the country.

If you are contacted directly by anyone claiming to have your data, we recommend you not send payment or respond to their demands. By receiving a message, that does not necessarily mean your personal information has been compromised. Threat actors often exaggerate or fabricate their access to sensitive or personal information to prompt payment from victims. We encourage individuals to be cautious of unsolicited emails, calls, or texts claiming to be from your school, the LMS provider, or law enforcement and to verify the contact through known channels before responding.

We understand that the immediate concern for individuals/students is determining what, if any, of their data or other sensitive information may have been exposed. At this time, the strongly recommended course is to await formal guidance from your educational institution regarding the scope of the incident and the nature of any affected data.

If you believe you have been impacted by the attack, please file a complaint at ic3.gov.

All crimes can have a devastating effect on those who have been impacted, as well as their families who may need help coping with what happened. Visit fbi.gov for more resources on coping with the impact of crime:

Just a reminder that during these snowy days anyone caught tearing up city property or someone else's private property with ATVs, side-by-sides, four wheelers, etc. will be arrested, charged with criminal mischief and their property towed. Parents.. monitor your childrens activities! The city recently completed an expensive sodding job at Colonial Park that has been vandilized. We also have a very nice property at the Marion Complex that has been vandalize as well. It will not be tolerated! We are trying to provide nice things for our citizens to enjoy and appreciate everyones cooperation. Thank you in advance! Everyone stay safe!
