Sirens were activated a short time ago, Sunday evening due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. There was a potential for a tornado in that storm.

The storm moved away from Marion, to the east and the sirens were canceled. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until midnight Sunday night.

We are getting reports of water starting to go over the roads in spots. Be aware with the heavy rain, there could be flooding and flooding on roads that might not normally flood. Turn around don't drown. If you see water over the road, please call the Marion County Sheriff's Office at 620-382-2144

* At 1221 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Canton,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Hillsboro, Marion, Peabody, Canton, Florence, Goessel, Burns,
