Happy Early Flag Day! 🇺🇸
Today, we celebrated the Stars and Stripes by honoring the brave men and women who have fought to protect our freedom and keep our flag flying high.
​Our group spent a wonderful day learning about its rich history and creating some beautiful, festive crafts. Mikilyn, Kenny & Diane were also able to get out in the community passing out little flags as a beautiful reminder of what our flag represents.We are so proud of our country and deeply grateful for those who defend it. ❤️🤍💙

International Garden Gnome Day! 🍄✨
​Did you know these little guys originated in 19th-century Germany (where they're called Gartenzwerge)? Legend has it they wake up at night to protect our lawns and bring good luck to the garden!
​To celebrate, we put in some hard work today and rewarded ourselves with some super fun gnome word searches, puzzles, and mazes & took a shot at launching our gnome the furthest in the garden. 🧩🎨 How are your lawn guardians celebrating today? 👇

​Today, we dove into some super-history and tested our powers with trivia and quizzes! We learned that on this day in 1972, Illinois officially named nearby Metropolis the hometown of Superman. From his 10-cent debut in 1938 to a record-breaking $1 million comic sale in 2010, it's been an amazing day celebrating the Man of Steel!

🎈 Happy Balloon Flight Day! 🎈
​Did you know that on this day in 1784, Marie Thible became the first woman to fly in an untethered hot air balloon? Talk about an unusual flight—she did it while dressed as the goddess Minerva and singing opera songs! 🎶👑
​To celebrate, we had an anxious and exciting game of balloon ball today! We also crafted our own unique hot air balloons and had a fun chat about whether we’d actually have enough guts to fly in a real one ourselves. 🤔💨

⚾️ We’re celebrating a double-header of baseball history: the 1851 debut of the very first uniforms by the NY Knickerbockers (straw hats and all!), and the infamous day "Mighty Casey" struck out.
