On behalf of the Maringouin Fire Department Fire Chief Stanley Washington, and the entire First Responders, We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to the Iberville Sheriff's Office, and to the family of the deputy who tragically lost his life. We are also lifting in prayer the deputy who remains in critical condition, along with his family, as they face this difficult time. We ask our community to join us in keeping the entire IPSO family in your thoughts and prayers.

As you may be aware, a statewide 911 outage is currently affecting multiple parishes across Louisiana.

Iberville Parish Emergency 911 remains operational.
Our 911 calls are being successfully rerouted to our administrative lines. If you call 911 in Iberville Parish, your call will be answered by our dispatchers, who are working diligently to respond to every emergency.

Déjà vu this week. Tropical moisture builds along the northern Gulf this week bringing a risk for heavy showers. Wednesday-Sunday are best chances for rain. Development doesn't look very likely at all. Wind shear likely keeps disturbance unorganized. This week starts hot and dry, but ends wetter and less hot.

update:
The chance of tropical cyclone development in the northern Gulf has decreased slightly.
The greatest risk for excessive rainfall has shifted earlier from Friday to Thursday though the heavy rain and flooding risk will still remain elevated on Friday.
Confidence has increased in rainfall totals and locations of heaviest rainfall.
Given the disorganized nature of this disturbance, there is still increased uncertainty over timing and locations of heaviest rainfall compared to a typical, more organized tropical system moving into our area.
