Marinette County Democratic Party We are women and men from every walk of life. MISSION STATEMENT

We are women and men from every walk of life. We are the party of inclusion.

We believe all should be given the support needed to realize their potential; have access to affordable health care; and that public education is the cornerstone of our democracy. We are members of every religion, every race, every sexual orientation and every segment of society. We believe all of our citizens should be given the support needed to realize his or her potential. We believe public education is the cornerstone of our democracy. We believe that everyone should have access to affordable high quality health care. We believe in fiscal responsibility and taxation that does not allow for a disproportionate distribution of wealth and power. We believe in a civil justice system that recognizes the equal rights of all citizens and does not favor the wealthy or powerful. We believe that we have an obligation to protect the earth. We believe that the United States should be a considerate world neighbor. We the Marinette County Democratic Party will work to incorporate these beliefs into our democratic way of life by being proactive in educating the public on issues that pertain to these beliefs; by recruiting appropriate candidates who subscribe to these beliefs; by studying and promoting legislation that supports these beliefs and by being diligent in making our voices heard when others would undermine these beliefs.

The Wisconsin Constitution should NOT be amended via the three constitutional referendums on your November ballot. They would unnecessarily prohibit our state's ability to protect our health, programs, and to enact balanced laws.

These referendums are distractions from our real issues like war and affordability, meant to draw in extremist voters and limit our freedoms. ❌ VOTE NO on all 3! ❌

What do Wisconsin's secretary of state and state treasurer actually do? And what do the candidates want to change?

Before you vote, get to know the five candidates running for two statewide offices that often fly under the radar. Brittany Carloni breaks down where the candidates differ and how these races could shape the future of the offices.

Did you know there are three constitutional amendments on the ballot this election?

βš–οΈ Ballot Question #3: Banning "preferential treatment" in government?

This is a broad, vague amendment that could gut equity programs supporting disadvantaged Wisconsinites β€” in education, hiring, and contracting. Even the liberal WI Supreme Court acknowledged our history of racial discrimination has entrenched effects.
The ACLU of Wisconsin and League of Women Voters say NO.

Did you know there were three constitutional amendments on the ballot this election?

β›ͺ Ballot Question #2: "Protecting" churches from emergency closures?

Sounds reasonable β€” until you realize it's a solution in search of a problem. This amendment locks public health tools out of the constitution forever, even in a future pandemic.

The League of Women Voters says NO.

Did you know there are three constitutional amendments on the ballot this election?

🚫 Ballot Question #1: Should the governor's veto power be limited?

Republicans say YES will "stop government overreach."

Here's what they're not telling you: this targets Gov. Evers' veto that boosted school funding for 400 years β€” NOT a tax hike, a revenue limit increase. Local school boards still decide property tax levels.

πŸ“š The Wisconsin Education Association Council and the League of Women Voters say NO. So do we.
