We held a College Media Signing for Senior Alyssa Baker today! Alyssa will be headed to the University of Rio Grande in the fall to continue her basketball career while majoring in Diagnostic Medical Sonography! Congratulations Alyssa! You will be greatly missed here at MHS!

This week’s Student Athlete of the Week is Freshman Kendall Vanderwal! Kendall was selected for this recognition because of her exceptional contributions and remarkable qualities as a freshman on the Marietta Lady Tigers basketball team.

Kendall has demonstrated tremendous mental toughness and an outstanding attitude throughout the season. This recognition isn’t just for a single week but for the incredible year she has put together. She stepped up as our floor general, seamlessly transitioning into the point guard position—a role requiring leadership and composure.

Despite having to shift from a scoring role to becoming a facilitator for the team, Kendall has handled the transition with maturity far beyond her years. Her ability to adapt and thrive as a leader on the court speaks volumes about her talent and dedication.

We are truly fortunate to have such a young, gifted athlete who embodies the qualities of the ultimate teammate and competitor. It will be exciting to see how much she grows over the next three years. The sky is the limit for this remarkable player.

The Lady Tigers celebrated three incredible seniors tonight! We also clinched the Twin State League and ended Conference play with a perfect record which has never been done in the conference until this year!
